Biography: “My name is Billy Schmelzer. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pa. I am studying chemical engineering and I work at Umicore Autocat in Auburn Hills, MI. After graduating I want to work at a company that does more research & development.

When I came to Kettering I hadn’t even thought about if I wanted to join a fraternity or not, but after learning more about Greek life at Kettering, with the networking and leadership opportunities and the sense of community it offered, I decided I’d give it a shot. At the ΣAE house, the strong fraternal bond between all the brothers and the creed they strive to live by, the True Gentleman, were what drew me in to become a proud brother of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. That is easily one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

In my free time I enjoy playing pretty much any sport, playing video games, watching something on Netflix, or just going out and hanging out with my brother. Other interests I have are camping, hiking, or pretty much any other outdoor activity. If you want to hang out, here is my contact info: (412) 956-3036 or schm7973@kettering.edu.”

Much laugh.

Biography: “Hey! My name is Varun and am currently a senior pursuing  mechanical engineering degree with an automotive concentration. I Grew up in Bangalore and moved to another city called Chennai, where I finished high school. I have been in the United States for the past 2 and a half years. Some of My hobbies include playing guitar, riding motorcycles and travelling.  The reason I joined Sigma Alpha Epsilon is because everyone has the same interests as me and made me feel like I was back home in India! All My brothers are very kind, considerate and portray the image of a True Gentleman! The fraternity instilled small yet vital values and principals in my life that have been very helpful and has made me more mature as an adult.

I love riding motorcycles and used to race back at home in India with My KTM RC390. I also love playing football (you may know it as Soccer) as well as watching it. My favorite football team is Chelsea FC. I l love playing any sport!

I also do like watching TV shows sometimes and I love to have a good talk about anything related to science especially in the field of thermodynamics and computational fluid dynamics.

I work at Harman International during My co-op rotation and mainly work on designing, testing, and building speakers and amplifiers. Im always down to hangout and do something cool or so feel free to contact me  at 734-447-7448 or jaya6192@kettering.edu and don’t hesitate to ask questions about the fraternity!”

Biography: “My name is Alex Paulsen, and I grew up, and have lived my entire life, in Royal Oak, Michigan. I graduated from Royal Oak High School in 2016, and came to Kettering in the fall of the same year. I plan to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with an Automotive Specialty and a Business minor. I currently Co-Op at BorgWarner in Auburn Hills, MI.

When I came to Kettering, I knew I was either going to join ΣAE (as my brother is an alumnus from this chapter), or not go Greek. I am very glad I chose to join ΣAE, as this Fraternity represents a true brotherhood and has helped me advance as a person. I have also gained many friendships and memories that I will hold on forever, and will gain many more in the years to come.

In my free time, I enjoy playing sports, playing video games, and hanging out with friends and/or family.”

Biography: “I’m just a young lady who loves salad.”

“I was born in Brooklyn, NY and spent most of my childhood growing up in the suburbs of New Jersey. As a kid, I was always interested in engineering and design work. Many days were spent working on dirtbikes and four wheelers in the middle of the woods with my friends.

Kettering seemed like an obvious choice for my career path in Engineering, so I obtained a Co-Op position at FEV, Inc. in Auburn hills in July of 2008. I work with state of the art technology and learn valuable skills and knowledge on a daily basis.

After 2 terms at the University, I joined the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity on campus. Since my freshman year, I have been the Eminent Herald and the IT Manager of the chapter. Being a brother of Sigma Alpha Epsilon has been an extremely rewarding lifestyle and has helped mold me into a True Gentleman.””I was born in Brooklyn, NY and spent most of my childhood growing up in the suburbs of New Jersey.
